Harry Tanner is a classicist, author, writer, and tutor based in London. His Bloomsbury debut, The Queer Thing About Sin, was shortlisted for Foyles Book of the Year 2025 and longlisted for the Runciman Award. He holds a PhD in Ancient Greek from the University of Galway, and appears regularly on the ideas circuit — The Guilty Feminist, History Hit’s Betwixt the Sheets, and the Institute of Art and Ideas — with writing in The Big Issue among others. He brings the ancient world to bear on how we live now: rest and overwork, desire, and the art of disagreement.
